FAQ Alpaca bedding
Alpaca quilts feel so light, but are they warm?
Yes they are comfortably warm. Please click to the fleece properties page to find out why.
Are alpaca quilts hot, like polyester?
No. Alpaca is a natural fibre and will breathe and adjust with your body temperature.
Can alpaca quilts shed?
Yes it is possible if the alpacas outer protective guard fibre is not seperated from the fine inner fleece during the carding of alpaca fleece to manufacture quilts. The alpaca fleece used in the manufacture of our alpaca bedding collections has been hand selected and MicroCombed, to seperate the unwanted outer guard fibre from the soft and warm inner fleece which is used in making your alpaca bedding product.
What about allergy sufferers?
Alpaca fleece is a very clean fibre and does not contain Lanolin which has been attributed to allergy problems. Since their release over five years ago, the manufacturer of these alpaca products, has had no reports of allergy problems.
